Reducing environmentally relevant influences is a challenge that not only we, but our whole society is facing. We are completely self-sufficient on site Kriebstein. Due to our highly efficient combined heat and power plant we are able to achieve very low levels of CO2-emissions by preventing energy loss in our distributed generation. The core of our plant consists of a gas turbine with a waste heat boiler and two downstream steam backpressure turbines. For reserve and peak load cover our heat requirements we have two steam generators working on an oil-gas basis readily available. An active contribution to lowering emission rates can be achieved by converting our gas turbine plant from steam to water injection. This causes a reduction of NOx-emissions by about 20 %. The overall net maximum electrical capacity of our plant is at 13.4 MW and at 76.6 MW thermal output.

By connecting the neighboring company to our heat supply unit, we have further improved our overall efficiency. Anotherinstallment of a second backpressure steam turbine with about 400 kw power output in 2014 has reinforced this effect. With the additional heat supply we have built a foundation for providing balancing energy, electricity and gas to stabilize electricity and gas system networks.

In the past years, countless of measures have been implemented to reduce specific energy consumption and modernize peripheral circuit and transformer stations. By renewing the press station in combination with redesigning the dryer section we have significantly lowered our steam and power consumption.

We actively take part in control energy management for electricity and prospectively gas, and therefore contribute instabilizing the supplying grids.
